Comedy Films About Weddings

After watching several comedy films about weddings, Andrei Weddings compiles a Top 5 Comedy Films About Weddings. Which one do you rate the highest?

5. I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007)

Kevin James and Adam Sandler in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry

Cast: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Jessica Biel

Synopsis: Two straight, single Brooklyn firefighters pretend to be a gay couple in order to receive domestic partner benefits. (source: IMDb)

Why you’ll love it: This is one of the best movies in which both Sandler and James star and it has some pretty good jokes and laugh out loud moments. There are also some cliché moments and some cheesy ones, but if you think about it all the comedies have these elements. Jessica Biel’s role came as a surprise to me as I couldn’t imagine her to be that hot.

4. Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016)

Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, Zac Efron and Adam Devine in Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates

Cast: Zac Efron, Adam Devine, Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza

Synopsis: Two hard-partying brothers place an online ad to find the perfect dates for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding. Hoping for a wild getaway. The boys instead find themselves out-hustled by an uncontrollable duo. (source: IMDb)

Why you’ll love it: This film is hilarious all the way through. It is not a rocket science film, but it makes people laugh, so it achieves its goal. The character are really cool, with a plus for the character played by Aubrey Plaza. This movie can remember you about good times of living with a friend and doing crazy shenanigans.

3. Meet The Fockers (2004)

Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Streisand in Meet The Fockers

Cast: Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Streisand, Owen Wilson

Synopsis: All hell breaks loose when the Byrnes family meets the Focker family for the first time. (source: IMDb)

Why you’ll love it: This is probably the best Ben Stiller film. Meet The Fockers has the same energetic tone like the first part and most of the scenes are freaking hilarious, Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand making the action even funnier. The little kid steals most of the scenes. You will enjoy this film as it’s quite relatable to those who plan to get married, or those who are grandparents.

2. Wedding Crashers (2005)

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn in Wedding Crashers

Cast: Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken, Isla Fisher

Synopsis: John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey, a pair of committed womanizers who sneak into wedding to take advantage of the romantic tinge in the air, find themselves at odds with one another when John meets and falls for Claire Cleary. (source: IMDb)

Why you’ll love it: There is a good chemistry between Wilson and Vaughn and this generates laughs. The story is funny, clever and most importantly original. There is a good mix between the jokes and the romantic plot. I would even say that this is one of the best comedies of the 21st century.

1. The Hangover (2009)

Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha in The Hangover

Cast: Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, Ed Helms, Heather Graham, Sasha Barrese, Ken Jeong, Mike Tyson

Synopsis: Three buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night and the bachelor missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his wedding. (source:IMDb)

Why you’ll love it: in my opinion, this is a classic choice of comedy films about weddings and it rightfully deserves the first spot in this top as it’s an iconic comedy. Ken Jeong and Mike Tyson have some memorable moments in this one and the gang consisting of Galifianakis, Cooper, Bartha and Helms steal the show with their acting. The jokes in The Hangover will surely generate laugh out loud moments and this film may also give you some ideas about locations where to spend your bachelors party.
